Man Who Appoints Many Judges Sees No Corruption

Mike’s bizarre turn
The New York Post  -  EDITORIAL  -  May 6, 2012

It’s fair to to wonder what state Mayor Bloomberg lives in, given his mind-bogglingly out-of-touch comments last week about political ethics in New York.  Even as corruption by several pols continues to make news, Mike was urging weaker ethics laws and a beefed-up pork system: “We’ve changed the ethics laws,” he said Friday, referring to recent restrictions on lawmakers.  “You’ve got to love the unintended consequences,” he added — sarcastically.  Bloomberg suggests that limits on pols’ junkets means that they can’t “get together” and “build relationships.” As a result, “they don’t talk to one another.”  It’s weird logic — but maybe not as strange as his plug for more pork: “The way you manage a legislature is, the leadership doles out [pork],” he said.  No doubt, he missed word that ex-state Sen. Carl Kruger recently drew a seven-year sentence for corruption tied to his official duties.  That ex-Sen. Pedro Espada was awaiting a verdict in his political-corruption trial.  That ex-Sen. Hiram Monserrate pleaded guilty Friday to using city pork for his own personal benefit.  That City Councilman Larry Seabrook will face a re-trial on charges that he, too, abused city funds.  City Council Speaker Chris Quinn may finally understand the need to clamp down. Last week, she told Seabrook: No more pork for you. (Or in his case, cream cheese.)  Quinn said the indicted Bronx pol won’t get his grubby hands on $300,000 in “member item” cash. Recall that in December — less than three weeks after his first corruption trial ended in a hung jury — Quinn said he was still in line for the money.  Her decision then seemed strange, to say the least: Prosecutors had charged the councilman with funneling $1.2 million in city funds to fake nonprofits he secretly controlled, directing much of the cash to his girlfriend and relatives — and, for good measure, seeking $177 in illegal reimbursements for a bagel and a Snapple.  A retrial was all but certain. Yet she was going to give him more taxpayer cash?  Fact is, as we’ve often argued, the member-item system invites abuse.  Yes, historically, “discretionary spending” has been used, in part, to help legislative leaders enforce discipline among their membership. But in New York, it’s become a source of endless scandals.  Has Bloomberg missed those scandals — or does he want to encourage more of them?  Because that’s what taking his advice would surely lead to.

I'm so disappointed in Bloomberg's judges. They are hacks who don't care about the law but only about keeping their jobs and pleasing Mike's friends.

Bloomberg associates socially with Chuck "the Rat" Schumer to learn how to be effectively corrupt. Bloomberg and Schumer think they represent good corrugation. The law and the courts exist to help with their good corruption.

this is the kind of "for public consumption" spin that is soooo dangerous... you'd be surprised at the number of people who hear this will actually believe it...
after all, he is the mayor of the greatest city in the world... it must be true...

People who have made millions and billions have skirted ethics to do so..know they all have done so in my experience....cooked books are a must.
So why would anyone expect Bloomberg to admit to knowing anything about ethics..that is not the God he worships or ever wants to exist in his moneymaking community..fact folks!

How can Bloomberg ( and so many others) continue to overlook the open secret - rampant corruption in the NY Supreme Court matrimonial section? Judge Laura Drager reappointed, the Judge famous for her prejudice and bias against the nonmonied spouse? She impoverishes women amd kids by overlooking the law, ignoring facts and refusing to enforce Stips signed in her own court! She is the epitomy of bribed Judge. I look forward to the day this screaming shrew sits behind bars.

Judge Laura Drager is the most unethical, corrupt Judge sitting today. It's an open secret she can be bought by tje monied party. Women and children impoverished directly by her refusal to read facts and apply the law. Flouts justice, goes to the highest bidder.

JUDGE LAURA DRAGER IS THE CEO OF "NEW YORK CITY DIVORCE COMPANY" ... LAW ENFORCEMENT KNOWS OF HER CORRUPTION, LAWYERS KNOW OF HER CORRUPTION AND ARE ENRICHED BY IT, AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE HER CASUALTIES.

Like so many other Matrimonial Part judges, Judge Laura Drager is in cahoots with the New York Women's Bar Association lawyers, who nominate and recommend the reappointment and advancement of matrimonial judges. The Women's Bar's lawyers feed off law guardianship and fiduciary appointments made by the matrimonial judges. Manhattan therapists, forensic accountants, wealth managers, real estate appraisers/brokers, private schools, rich kid summer camps, after-school tutors and other supplicants of the Manhattan Divorce Industry feed off the orders of matrimonial judges. All of this is paid for by the marital Manhattan apartment's appreciation in value, and through the extravagant child support and "add-ons" unfairly ordered by judges to be paid by the non-custodial parent - legalese for the father who loses residential custody 80% of the time. This system is destroying good fathers, fatherhood, the sons and daughters as teens who need fathers in their lives, the girlfriend who care for children of the prior marriage, and in the end a society whose primary goal seems to be retribution for a failed marriage, and the all-too-often-concentrated feminist power to demonize men post-divorce.
